Health In Focus

Article by the Hon Rebecca White MP, Shadow Minister for Health and Labor Member for Lyons

Health Matters

There is lots of talk about the pressure on the budget and the burden on the health system. However the real pressure will be that put on Tasmanian families who will need to find more money to afford the services they need to stay healthy.

Break-in at St Helens Neighbourhood House

The St Helens Neighbourhood House was broken in to over the weekend. It was distressing to find two laptops stolen along with a flat-screen television. Not only has this caused the staff great inconvenience and unnecessary costs, the community itself is disadvantaged by the loss of these important resources. It is very disappointing to think that people would steal from the House. The goals of the House are to support the community and the organisation achieves this through limited funding. If anyone within the community should hear of these items being offered for sale or any other whispers, please contact Trish O’Duffy at the House on 6376 1134.

Thank you. Mayor Sarah Schmerl.
